Granny Books

Hello, my name is Madaline Dawkins. I have three wonderful adult children who have always encouraged me to pursue my dreams of becoming an author and sharing my writings. I’ve always enjoyed reading various material by other authors and writing my own poetry and short stories.

I’m often asked, where do I get inspiration? While writing, I always get carried away to a far away place. I sometimes feel like one of the characters I write about. From that point, the words seem to jump from my thoughts onto the paper. Oftentimes, written until my eyes grew tired, forcing me to stop and pick back up the next day.

My love for writing began when I was in Junior High School. I would write about my thoughts, the birds in the air, or sometimes even romance. Now that I am a grandmother, I’ve found myself writing stories about my grandchildren. These stories will be something they can one day read to their children many years from now, creating family traditions along the way. This new sense of creativity inspired by my love for my grandchildren will help me continue doing the one thing I’ve always loved.
